Nicholas started Neoteric Design in the late 1990s: his mission is to bring an end to bad design on the web. Nick serves his clients as a strategist, business analyst, and creative director. He is skilled in Agile software development, user-centered software design, web and mobile content strategy, and usability testing. He has a technical development background.
He’s worked with a broad range of startups, businesses, universities and non-profits, including Hyde Park Angels, Crain’s, The Merchandise Mart Properties, the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois Chicago, University of California Davis, the National Association Boards of Pharmacy, the American Parkinson Disease Association, the City of Evanston, and many more.
He continues his professional development through conferences, associations, and entrepreneurial networks, including the Chicago Lean Startup Circle, the Chicago Agile Methodology Group, Refresh Chicago, the Interaction Design Association. Nick has given a number of talks to the Lincoln Park Business Development Institute, the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Independent Writers of Chicago, and North Park University's Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management.
Nick received his M.A. in language theory from the Department of Philosophy at Northwestern University, after graduating magna cum laude from Denison University with bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy.
When he's not thinking about entrepreneurship, he's working on his organic urban garden, planning a dinner party for ten, studying foreign languages, or training for a triathlon.
