European Workwear North American Websites

Website: blakladerusa.com, blaklader-workwear.ca

This well-known European brand workwear company recently introduced its clothing line to the US and Canadian markets. It provides uniquely engineered workwear, specifically designed for the trades and construction environment. The parent brand website focused on European market, but the product line for the North American audience needed to provide greater background on the brand, product history, and product design. Neoteric Design designed US and Canadian websites that introduce, engage, inform, highlight, and detail, through video and flash, the specific design details of the workwear line.

The websites feature an online catalog, high quality video content, and interactive Flash product pages that highlight design details. The catalog permits reviews and user feedback, and the site offers sales team support materials, news, and a retail store finder for the consumer audience.

Usability Study

Client: Fortune 100 Pharmaceutical Company
Website: Intranet

We completed a usability study on a proposed navigation redesign for this company's intranet. During our testing, we interviewed various employees to learn about their expectations, needs, and concerns regarding their intranet.

We digitally recorded the test sessions. Key sound bites were included in our report of findings, which highlighted both successes and areas of improvement, as well as offering possible easy-to-implement solutions.

The outcome? We learned that a new way of thinking about this company's products and services worked well and was well received, and that some of the navigation labels weren't as clear as they could be. Our findings helped to support this company's redesign efforts, and will save it hundreds of hours of productivity time.

Kinzie Chophouse is a River North destination restaurant, well known for its steaks, seafood, salads, and wine list. Its previous website was cutting edge when built, incorporating opentable.com online reservations and newsletter signups, but started to lag behind trends in design, communication, and management.

Susan Frasca's art direction urged us to "show, not tell," the story of the restaurant. Integrated Flash movies, fun quotes, and big titles make for quick scanning and impressive photo displays. Content is easy to maintain using Adobe Contribute. And sidebar elements make for easy online reservations and innovative Blackberry or mobile phone text messaging.

In the week following go live, we had eleven more inquiries for our private dining space than usual.
