Gallery 400 at University of Illinois Chicago

Arts, Education

For 30 years, the University of Illinois at Chicago gallery has presented a broad range of art, design, and architecture providing critical discourse and interpretive programming for the school community and the public at large. We helped define and express the organization's brand with a retooled site architecture that enables easy navigation to the wealth of programming materials. The splash of background imagery immerses visitors on the home page while site-wide calls to action highlight information at-a-glance.

Exhibition pages display image galleries with dynamic captioning alongside descriptive subpages for extensive related material produced with each show. Associated lectures and events are intuitively linked between exhibitions and the event calendar, so users won't miss a beat. The gallery also produces significant content for the blog and the interactive Creative Community, helping students of the art and design school, faculty, and staff to interface directly with each other. And of course, the suite of social media tools come integrated throughout the site making it simple to build buzz around each event. Staff can wrangle in all this content with ease using the Refinery content management system.
